Who needs a coach?

The  power of a great teacher


Webster’s Dictionary defines  a teacher as : a person or thing that teaches something; especially : a person whose job is to teach students about certain subjects

one that teaches; especially :  one whose occupation is to instruct a

Coach is defined as a  a person who teaches and trains an athlete or performer

  • : a person who teaches and trains the members of a sports team and makes decisions about how the team plays during games

  • : a private teacher who gives someone lessons in a particular subject.

My industry of personal training is at its core a teaching position.the most influential teachers and coaches I have experienced have had various qualities that were as important as their ability to instruct.not one of them involved sales, marketing or shakes.


In the olden days all sports movies,male coming of age flicks,and the General hero's journey follows a basic script.The novice is presented to the audience, conflict arises,to face the challenge the novice finds a teacher that teaches them the skills to be a warrior/adult, the battle ensues, eventually the the novice  is a victorious Hero,Star wars ,Rocky,Rudy,Hoosiers are all examples of that story.Yoda and Ben Kenobi of star wars took their student on different parts his hero's journey from novice through -acolyte -adept student and finally to master of the system in Luke’s training path.


Coahes/Teachers  inspire, sew the seeds of greatness that students don’t see themselves be not only a place of information but an example of what passion for something is or what it looks like to have greatness in your corner.At best a Coach can guide the chaos of a genius just enough not to smother that creative flame.So tel me more of your greatest accomplishments as a coach has been selling shakes and waist trainers
